Ostrów Wielkopolski is an attractive tourist destination, boasting precious monuments which testify to its colourful history:
- the Church of the Virgin Mary the Queen of Poland, formerly an Evengelical church, built in 1778 (Królowej Jadwigi St);
- the Town Hall (1828), designed by J.H. Haeberlin, a close associate of Berlin's famous architect K.F. Schinkel (Marketplace);
- the Church of St Stanislaus the Bishop (now the Cathedral), built between 1905 and 1907 to a design by Sylwester Pajzderski and Roger Sławski (Gimnazjalna St);
- the stained-glass windows complex of a former male school, dating from the 1880s (Gimnazjalna St);
- Neo-Baroque sights: the facade of the former Savings Bank at Rowińskiego Square, the house on the corner of Wrocławska St and Wiosny Ludów St;
- a Neo-Renaissance synagogue with Moorish influences, built between 1856 and 1860, on the edge of the former Jewish quarter (Raszkowska St);
- architecture from the period between the World Wars: the old Wagon factory buildings, designed by Bronisław Giedaczyński (Wrocławska St); the Estkowski School building (1925-1926), designed by Franciszek Sterczyński (Wrocławska St); the Polish Bank (1928-1930), designed by Stanisław Filasiewicz, now housing the local branch of Wielkopolski Bank Kredytowy (Bankowy Square).
