Krapkowice
– Golden Business Location
Krapkowice with a population of 18,000 is situated on the river Odra in the central part of Opolskie voivodeship. The town, with a history dating back more than 710 years, is full of greenery and picturesque sights, it is friendly and open to investors. It is the home town of Miss Poland 2005 Malwina Ratajczak.
Krapkowice is also the county capital, a supra-regional business centre (the local economy has been based on the paper, shoe and steel structure industries for many years), administrative, cultural and educational centre of the region as well as one of the few locations in Poland with two active exits from A4 expressway on its territory.
The commune is attractively situated in the proximity of the Czech Republic, Germany and Ukraine. It offers developed land plots for investments and has a highly qualified work force. Various support programmes offered by the local authorities, tax relief and breaks for new businesses and one of the lowest real estate tax rates in Opole region contribute to rapid business growth in the commune.
Krapkowice has implemented a local development plan and signed partnership and co-operation agreements with towns in the US, Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland and Ukraine.
In 2005, Krapkowice was awarded the Fair Play Commune certificate for the third time running, the prestigious Golden Business Location title and a mention in the national Golden Opportunity Land contest for developing the most attractive real estate offer for foreign investors. In 2006, Krapkowice received a certificate for completing the Transparent Poland campaign promoting good local governance standards.
