Ujazd
Ujazd is located in the south-eastern part of the Opole region, on the boundary with Śląskie Voivodeship (Upper Silesia), on the Kłodnica river and the Gliwice Canal.
The commune is intersected by the A4 motorway, with two junctions at Olszowa and Nogowczyce, and by national roads No. 88 (Opole-Gliwice) and No. 40 (Kędzierzyn-Koźle-Pyskowice).
This particular location arouses more and more interest among potential investors. Reasons for this growing attention include the fact that plenty of land has been made available for development within the area of the commune in the immediate vicinity of the motorway and near the Kędzierzyn-Koźle conurbation.
The local government of the commune sets great store by the protection of the natural environment and has a very serious approach to environmental issues. The whole area of the commune is provided with water supply systems. Recently, a modern sewage treatment plant satisfying the needs of the whole commune has been given for use, with the possibility of connecting neighbouring towns to the facility. The sewerage system was put in the town of Ujazd and in several villages: Niezdrowice, Stary Ujazd, Zimna Wódka, Jaryszów, Nogowczyce and Balcarzowice. The whole commune will have access to the sewerage system till the end of 2006. New land has been also earmarked for detached houses.
The commune has many monuments of religious architecture, plenty of greenery, unpolluted air, and diversified hilly terrain, which can stimulate development of tourism, especially hiking and cycling.
