Lubin is a city in Lower Silesia with 80,000 citizens. It is located on the Lubin Upland, a part of the Silesian-Łużyce Lowland, by the Zimnica river, left tributary of the Odra river.

Lubin is one of the most dynamically developing municipal centres of Lower Silesia. The effects of cooperation between the self-government and economic circles are the source of open satisfaction and hope for the future.

The city boldly faces the challenges arising from Poland's integration with the European structures and globalisation. Lubin constantly pursues conscious membership in those processes and wants to shape them to the best of its capabilities.

Lubin's economic pride is still KGHM Polska Miedź S.A., one of the biggest and most dynamic Polish companies. It is world's fifth and Europe's biggest producer of the highest quality electrolytic copper, often referred to as ‘four nines' (99.99% pure copper).

The most dynamically developing local economy sector are services, which allows to claim that the city moves along the lines of modern development tendencies aiming at greater service orientation of the economy.
